The Beldam

Costume designed and made in 2020 for a live action version of The Beldam (The Other Mother) from Coraline (2009). 

The costume features a corset body suit made from coutil and corsetry mesh with spiral steel and flat steel boning. It has hand appliquéd lace and glued on serqoski rhinestones. At the hips there are exposed boning panniers, supporting an overskirt. The overskirt made of black delustered satin is lined with red satin and the bottom features layers of ‘engraved’ fabric.
